Canadien’s Key Players Ruled Out Indefinitely After Saturday’s Preseason Game Against the Toronto Maple Leafs…

Patrik Laine and David Reinbacher had to leave the ice due to knee injuries during the Montreal Canadiens’ preseason game against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday, which was a huge setback for the team.

Laine was noticeably agitated after colliding knee-on-knee with Toronto’s Cedric Pare. He chucked his glove and helmet before hobbling to the dressing room. Only 13 seconds into his shift, Montreal’s best defensive prospect, Reinbacher, left the game.

Both Canadiens players were seen leaving the arena on crutches after the game. Laine was wearing a brace on his left knee.

Martin St. Louis, head coach of the Canadiens, said, “Hopefully, it’s not too serious,” without offering any other information regarding Laine’s status at this time.
To ascertain the degree of the injury, the team anticipates performing additional assessments, such as an MRI.
Laine might suffer everything from a little bone bruise to more serious problems like a meniscus or ACL tear, which could keep him out of commission for several months.

The most recent injuries to Canadians are those of Reinbacher and Laine.
The Canadiens are holding their breath in the hopes that neither of the players’ injuries will worsen during the regular season.

Particularly alarming for a Montreal team trying to recover from losing a league-high 1,600 man-games due to injury last season is the departure of Laine and Reinbacher.

St. Louis said, “There’s nothing we can do about it,” while acknowledging the continued problems with injuries. The league just keeps going; we won’t stop either.

Laine and Reinbacher’s imminent availability for the start of the season is now seriously questioned; the Canadiens plan to provide more thorough updates on their situations in the days ahead.
