In a move that solidifies his position as the leader of the legendary Alabama Crimson Tide football program, Head Coach Kalen DeBoer has agreed to a contract extension.
The new deal, worth an average of $12.5 million annually, keeps DeBoer at the helm through the 2030 season.
“I’m humbled and grateful for the trust placed in me by the University of Alabama,” DeBoer said. “We’re committed to maintaining the Tide’s elite status.”
DeBoer’s original eight-year contract, signed in January 2024, has been replaced by the extended agreement.
Athletics Director Greg Byrne praised DeBoer’s leadership, saying, “Kalen’s vision, expertise, and passion for excellence make him the perfect fit.”
Under DeBoer’s guidance, the Crimson Tide has shown significant promise, with a renewed focus on player development.
The extension reinforces Alabama’s commitment to DeBoer’s long-term plan.
Details of the contract reveal performance-based incentives, tied to SEC championships, College Football Playoff appearances, and national titles.
DeBoer’s buyout clause has increased, demonstrating the university’s investment.
As the 2024 season unfolds, DeBoer and the Crimson Tide aim to continue their winning tradition.
